Feel Good Februar - 7 Dinge, die uns diesen Monat nähren

Time for rest and gentle new beginnings

Yes, I have to admit it, February has always been my personal end boss. I love the Christmas season, and I can manage January as well. Then February arrives, it is still cold, and I just want to curl up in bed, even though I feel like I should be productive. Maybe this is already where the difficulty begins, that I do not accept this winter month for what it is. Nature shows us so beautifully. It is simply not the time to run at full speed. It is still a time of rest and gentle new beginnings, without pressure.

Learning to appreciate and love February

This year, I decided neither to escape to the sun nor to be annoyed by the cold. Because, as you know, the outside is never the problem, but how you respond to it. February is allowed to be seen and enjoyed anew by me. It is somehow strange to simply endure a month and to just sit through the valuable lifetime we have.

If you feel the same way, I warmly invite you to appreciate the coming time as well and to make it really pleasant for yourself. For this, I would like to share a few ideas with you.

7 tips for a nourishing February

  1. Mindfulness walk
Wrap up warmly and go for a conscious walk. Leave your phone and music at home and listen to the sounds around you. Be attentive and discover the first signs, such as small buds that show that life in nature is beginning to make its way back. The fresh, clear air is a blessing for a strained mind. A warm cup of cacao warms hands and heart on your walk and brings you additional mindfulness.
  2. Warmth from within
February is a month in which you are allowed to give yourself a lot of warmth, in different forms as well. This also applies to what you take in. Instead of bread for breakfast, I can recommend a warm porridge with cinnamon. Warm soups and your favorite teas are also wonderful, and that a cup of cacao brings an extra portion of energy and warmth for the heart probably goes without saying :-)
  3. Take more breaks
Remind yourself that this is not the time for full power. It is the month in which it is better to take one break more rather than one less. Schedule fixed breaks for naps, drinking cacao, breathing, or whatever recharges you. Block them in your calendar. Breaks are not the absence of productivity. They are an essential part of it.
  4. Connection instead of going through it alone
It is tempting to simply retreat at home and leave the world outside. But as you have probably already noticed yourself, nourishing connections are more than worth leaving the comfort zone for. Meet friends for a meal, for a shared ritual, or for a cozy movie night. Also stay in contact with the outside world through phone calls, voice messages, etc. We are all in this together and can gift each other warm words during this cold time.
  5. Cultivate rituals for your temple
An underestimated Feel Good lever in February is the conscious care of your body. Especially now, I invite you to perceive it as a temple and to give it the time and appreciation it deserves. Conscious moisturizing after bathing, a pleasantly scented oil for the hands, a facial massage moment, or a peeling once a week in the shower. This is not only external, but also a message to your nervous system: I take time for myself and I am allowed to enjoy slowness. You do things like showering and moisturizing anyway. So why not with devotion and calm? Be worth it to yourself.
  6. Collect light and warmth
Collect as many moments of warmth and light as possible. This can be done, for example, by going outside right after getting up and enjoying the morning light, sitting in front of a red light lamp during the afternoon low, or allowing yourself to feel good in the bathtub. Further ideas are standing by the window during your lunch break, a foot bath, warm cozy socks and a cozy sweater, taking a hot water bottle or heated blanket to bed or letting it preheat, lighting candles and enjoying them. Plan your daily 10 minutes of warmth and light time and then do at least one of the things mentioned above.
  7. Create a Feel Good cacao ritual
Through the breakdown of tryptophan when drinking cacao, you can increase your serotonin levels, endorphins are released, and this helps against the winter blues. Taking conscious time to slow down and allowing yourself this moment of enjoyment also fits wonderfully into our Feel Good February. So feel free to prepare a Cacao, sense the abundance of nutrients, and while you drink, a small Feel Good practice: Place one hand on your heart, breathe in and out three times, and remember three things that have already felt good today, even if they were small. Ask yourself: What would you like to consciously invite more often in February so that your everyday life feels fulfilling and nourishing?

For me, it is so important to appreciate much more what is present right now in this very moment. The warming soup, the fresh air while walking, or the warm bath at the end of the day. I am looking forward to all the small moments that sweeten February for me, and cacao is of course part of that as well. That is why I am already looking forward to all the small and big cacao moments this month.

I hope I was able to give you some inspiration and that you make February really beautiful for yourself. If you would like more inspiration and or want to share your own experiences, feel free to follow us on Instagram and connect with me there.
