Why Friday the 13th is actually the day of femininity

Cocoa Ceremony: Honoring Beauty and Femininity

Guest post by Silja

Did you know that Friday the 13th was originally the day to honor femininity and the goddess?

Because Friday is named after Frigg / Freya, the goddess of love and fertility. She is the Nordic version of Venus and Aphrodite. 13 is the average number of menstrual cycles a woman has per year and the number of lunar cycles per year. So Friday the 13th is full of feminine symbolism and was once a day to honor the divine feminine, love, beauty, sensuality and fertility.

It was never an unlucky day.

The church / patriarchal structures declared Friday the 13th to be a day of misfortune in order to prevent the honoring of femininity and the celebration of the goddess. Because in the Christian church at that time only one person was allowed to be worshiped: God.

The false superstition that Friday the 13th is a day of bad luck has persisted to this day. And yes - disaster certainly happens somewhere in the world on Friday the 13th - but it happens on any other day too. It would be nice if "misfortune" only happened 1-3 days a year (because that's how many Fridays the 13th there are on average each year).

Cocoa Ceremony: Honoring Beauty and Femininity

Let's honor the beauty & power of femininity

So after 2000 years it is really time to let go of these superstitions and remember the original meaning. Let us honor this day again and remember the beauty and power of femininity, which is expressed individually in every female being.

How to honor your feminine nature:

Living in harmony with your cyclical and emotional nature, dancing, honoring yourself like a goddess, inviting pleasure and sensuality into your life, showing yourself the deepest love, dating yourself, shadow work, working with archetypes, honoring all facets of your womanhood, Connecting with nature, living rituals and ceremonies - alone and with other women, sisterhood.

Soon, in October, it will be Friday the 13th again - thanks to the Goddess!

And to give this day its original, beautiful meaning again, I would like to invite you to my free online cacao ceremony "Her" on Friday, October 13th at 8 p.m.

This ceremony is a gift from me to you and all the wonderful female beings in this world. For me, “Her”, i.e. “she”, stands for the feminine, powerful, wild, sacred energy that flows through us women. And this ceremony is dedicated to this energy.

You can register for free HERE . Important: it will take place in English. There will be a recording that will remain online for 48 hours if you cannot be there on the day. Feel free to invite friends or your sister, mother, grandmother or other great women!

I look forward to you,
Silja
